World Wetlands Day in Greece

Evros Delta

World Wetlands Day was celebrated in Evros Delta on Friday 2nd of February

Approximately 140 schoolchildren participated, from 5 villages and towns that are situated close to the wetland.

The activities that they took part in were:

  • Powerpoint projection on "The value of Evros Delta for fisheries"
  • Participation in a contest with questions on the topic of the day
  • Handicraft: realisation of a 3D fish
  • Guided tour on a small "port" in the wetland in order to see traditional fishing techniques and species of fish with commercial value.
