World Wetlands Day 2008 -- Greece

Despina Michailidou, Nestos Delta and Lakes Vistonida and Ismarida Agency, writes: "First of all we would like to thank you for your immediate response in sending WWD material. On Friday the 1st of February our Agency with the help of many local authorities celebrated World Wetlands Day for 2008. More than 200 students came to the Lake Vistonida Information Center and had the chance to hear about the values of the wetlands, participate in environmental games, and then made groups for birdwatcing. At the end of the celebration the students let free four raptors that had been treated at the National Wild Animal Nursing Center. We are sending some photos from the events."
