Partnerships with International non-governmental Organizations

The Convention partners with five international organizations as a means to share information, coordinate and collaborate. The International Organization Partners (IOPs) provide valuable support for the work of the Convention at global, regional, national, and local levels, chiefly by providing expert technical advice, field level implementation assistance, and financial support, both from their headquarters units and from their national and regional offices and affiliates and from their expert networks.

The five organizations are Birdlife International, IUCN - the International Union for Conservation of Nature, The International Water Management Institute, Wetlands International and WWF - the Worldwide Fund for Nature.
