Zambia designa su tercer sitio Ramsar, las Ciénagas de Lukanga
En
un acto paralelo organizado por WWF International y el Centro para los
Humedales Africanos durante la 9ª reunión de la Conferencia
de las Partes en Ramsar cerca de Kampala, el 8 de noviembre de 2005, la
Secretaría de Ramsar entregó al Ministro de Turismo, Medio
Ambiente y Recursos Naturales de Zambia, Excmo. Sr. Kabinga
Pande, un certificado de sitio correspondiente a la designación
de las Ciénagas de Lukanga,
el tercer Humedal de Importancia Internacional de ese país. Estas
ciénagas, de enorme importancia ecológica y socioeconómica,
son la primera de las cinco designaciones de nuevos sitios que Zambia

d'une activité organisée par le WWF International et le
Centre pour les zones humides africaines, durant la 9e Session de la Conférence
des Parties contractantes, près de Kampala, le 8 novembre 2005,
le Secrétariat Ramsar a remis au ministre du Tourisme, de l'Environnement
et des Ressources naturelles de la Zambie, M.
Kabinga Pande, un certificat de site pour l'inscription des
marais de Lukanga, la troisième zone humide d'importance internationale
de la Zambie. Les marais de Lukanga,
extrêmement importants, tant du point de vue écologique que
socio-économique, sont le premier des cinq nouveaux sites dont
la Zambie et le Secrétariat préparent l'inscription. Vous

Zambia names Lukanga Swamps as third Ramsar site
At
a side event organized by WWF International and the Centre for African
Wetlands during Ramsar's 9th meeting of the Conference of the Parties
near Kampala, 8 November 2005, the Ramsar Secretariat was pleased to award
Zambia's Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources, the Honourable
Kabinga Pande, a site certificate
for the designation of the Lukanga Swamps,
Zambia's third Wetland of International Importance. These swamps, very
important from both an ecological and a socio-economic point of view,
mark the first of five new site designations that Zambia and the Secretariat
are in the process of working through. More
