About the Ramsar Convention

Invitation to the Ramsar Forum

The Ramsar Secretariat is pleased to invite all interested persons to join the Ramsar Forum (first launched in May 1997), an unmoderated e-mail discussion group devoted to the wide range of news, announcements, opinion, information requests and replies concerning the conservation and sustainable use of wetland resources in general and the Ramsar Convention in particular. The Ramsar Forum is an official service of the Ramsar Secretariat, and all participants in the worldwide "Ramsar community" -- citizens, NGOs, government officials, waterbirds, you name it -- are encouraged to join; messages are welcome in any of the Convention's three languages (English, French, and Spanish).

As of September 2007, there are about 950 members of the Ramsar Forum from around the world.

Alternatively, you may subscribe to the Ramsar Forum simply by sending an e-mail message to the following address: ramsar-forum-join@indaba.iucn.org . The subject line and message fields should be left blank. The e-mail address from which you sent that message will be added to the Forum list, and you will receive a confirmation of your subscription and a message (in English) which will welcome you with a fuller description of the Ramsar Forum's policy and purpose as well as details on how to use the list and its services.
